What is the work environment like at Metro-West? It is a family atmosphere that operates with a sense of urgency. It is truly a team setting.
What is a typical day like at Metro-West? No day is typical; there is always a variety of new opportunities and challenges to conquer. Mundane does not reside at Metro-West.
What is your favorite thing about your company? We are all accountable to each other for our collective success.

What characteristics do you look for in job seekers when hiring? Energetic and driven team players who sincerely care about the work they do.
Any advice for job seekers looking to work in your industry? It is a great time to enter the valuation profession. There is high demand not only for Appraisers but competent support staff and executives to manage the process. It is a very tight knit industry and you have to get started somewhere, but advancement is quite common.
Where is your field/industry headed? There is currently very high demand for valuation experts. The record low interest rates and rebound of the housing economy is the driving force behind this.
Where do you see your company in five years? We are coming off a record 2012 and just hired our 175th employee. We hope to continue this growth and in 2017 we will be celebrating our 5th year in our new corporate headquarters in downtown Detroit. We certainly plan on supporting the renaissance movement in downtown Detroit over the next five years!
How has technology changed or affected your business? In a way, we are technology based company. We constantly reinvest in our technology infrastructure and field support. It is key factor in our continued success. Moving to cloud based integrated saas systems have given us a competitive edge in our industry. We will continue to invest in technology to support our staff and provide value to our clients.
What are some of the things you do for fun when you are not working? The Metro-West staff is always exploring Detroit and its diverse culture, excellent restaurants and supporting its sports teams. Participating in charitable events is also great outlet for team building and community service.
